Join our mobile holiday sound installation as we roam through Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood! We’ll gather outside Cornish College of the Art’s Kerry Hall at 6:15pm, preparing for a 6:30pm departure southward toward Cal Anderson Park . We'll make our way back to Kerry Hall to hear the conclusion of Cornish's Music Department's Scores of Sound Festival and the Modern Afro-Pop Ensemble, directed by Johnaye Kendrick.

6:30pm–7:30pm | FREE

We invite you to join us for Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night, hosted by Cornish College of the Arts, Music Department. With your help, we will create a roving sound installation, where boomboxes replace voices in a holiday musical event like no other. You bring a boombox, cassette tape player, iPod/iPhone/iPad with speakers, or any other media playing device you wish, and we supply a CD, cassette tape, or digital download of one of the four parts of the piece. We all press play together at 6:00pm, and walk through the streets of Capitol Hill, creating an aural blend of bells, chimes, and ambient voices that will make heads turn on every corner.

If you wish to join us, you’ll need one of the four audio files, available either by downloading and using the Unsilent Night mobile app or downloading the file directly here:

If you’d like to bring a boombox or CD player, send an email to kerryob [at] cornish.edu by Thursday, December 5th noon, so we bring enough tapes and CDs for everyone.

Any questions about participating? Please email kerryob [at] cornish.edu
